Programming
The Tabard Theatre programmes high-quality, audience-focused theatre across a wide range of genres, from new writing and revivals to musical theatre, comedy and family productions.
We are particularly interested in work that combines strong storytelling with professional production values and clear audience appeal. Whether classic or contemporary, intimate or ambitious, we seek productions that engage, entertain and leave a lasting impression.
Our aim is simple: to present exceptional theatre in an intimate setting, giving audiences confidence that whatever they come to see at the Tabard, it will be a great night out.
Submissions
We are open to receiving enquiries from professional companies who think their show would appeal to a Chiswick/Ealing/West London audience.
We typically programme 3 or 4 week runs of theatre shows (plays and musicals), as well as one-off nights (or short 2-3 performance runs) of solo shows, comedy, magic, music, poetry and cabaret.
Longer running shows are performed from Tuesday or Wednesday to Saturday each week, with one-off and short runs on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
Please note we are currently booking one-off and short runs from January 2027 onwards, and longer runs from July 2027 onwards.
If you’d like to introduce your show and your company to us, please email us on info@tabard.org.uk
Theatre Facilities

Set for HMS Pinafore May 2026
The Tabard is an 80 seat studio theatre with a raked auditorium and a 6m by 4.5m stage area, with stage left access to the dressing rooms and the option of a crossover for stage right entrances. For stand up comedy and solo shows which don't need the full depth of the stage, we can add an extra row of seats to bring capacity up to 88.
Hire of the theatre includes access to all lighting and sound equipment, two dressing rooms with tea/coffee making facilities and toilets, and services including box office and front of house staffing. Flats, furniture, projector, piano and some props are available to hire at additional cost.
Tabard Theatre
The theatre is hired in its black box state with black theatre drapes on three sides and a wooden floor as pictured. But the Tabard's versatile space can be used to create sets like the examples shown below.
