Watson: The Final Problem is a gripping, atmospheric journey through one man’s memories, regrets, and revelations. Set in 1894, the story follows Watson, an old soldier haunted by the losses of his beloved wife Mary and the great Sherlock Holmes. Alone, he faces a city rife with false reports and intrigue, and it’s time to finally set the record straight.
As Watson unravels his tale of long-buried secrets, betrayal, and death, he grapples with a shadowy figure lurking in the gutters of London. With someone playing a long game, Holmes and Watson confront their greatest challenge yet. But as the story unfolds, Watson must ask himself: is the game really over?
Created and directed by Bert Coules, the BBC's head writer on adaptations of the Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, this performance features Tim Marriott, whose previous works at the Tabard include Appraisal, Jack's Ashes, and A Special Relationship.
