8 March 2026
Before the vote, there were Voices.
A delve into the lives of women who made history in Victorian times and a few who should have, but didn’t. There’s Ada Lovelace who invented the computer (…or would have done if only they’d had the technology); Caroline Naughton whose pioneering work paved the way for women to keep their own children after divorce; and Carrie Jacobs-Bond who became a millionairess just from writing one song!
Then, there’s the undercover female detectives. You won’t know their names because they worked undercover.
Fiona-Jane Weston, chanteuse and mistress of cabaret-style shows exploring women’s history, takes you on this whistle-stop tour highlighting some of the amazing achievements of Victorian women which will both elucidate and delight. Fiona is accompanied by Jason Carr on piano.
