German-born composer Kurt Weill (1900–1950) is best known for his collaborations with Bertolt Brecht, particularly in “The Threepenny Opera” where the iconic “Mack the Knife” originated. His advocacy for socially relevant music is reflected in celebrated songs like “My Ship” and “September Song.”

David Freedman, who trained as an actor at The Rose Bruford College and possesses a background in Sociology and Psychology, will be accompanied by pianist Stephen Hose. With surtitles for non-English pieces, this performance showcases Freedman's extensive experience in musical theatre and his rich operatic background.
