The Birth of Frankenstein tells the gripping story of teenager Mary Godwin and her passionate romance with Percy Shelley as they travel to Geneva to spend a fateful summer with the notorious poet Lord Byron. The trio challenges each other to write ghost stories, leading Mary into a nightmare that inspires her seminal work, Frankenstein. This production promises a thrilling blend of history and horror that will captivate both literature enthusiasts and theatre-goers alike.

Adapted and directed by Nick Hennegan, with original music by Robb Williams, The Birth of Frankenstein previews for a single performance at the Tabard before its world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
