The Tabard Theatre is proud to welcome one of London's most exciting vocalists, Immy Churchill, for July's edition of Summertime Jazz. In this special performance, Immy will deliver a captivating selection of music from the great Jazz Vocalists, including Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie, and Carmen McRae.Immy Churchill is a jazz vocalist, singer-songwriter, lyricist, and educator studying at The Royal Academy of Music. She has been described as a “rising star,” making her mark in the London jazz scene and showcasing her original music at various esteemed venues such as The Green Note, Pizza Express Holborn, and The Vortex. Immy has also performed alongside Emma Rawicz’s Quintet and Jazz Orchestra at iconic locations like Ronnie Scott’s and The Jazz Cafe.As a member of The London Vocal Project, Immy has the opportunity to collaborate with renowned artists such as Norma Winstone and Dave Holland, recently recording with them for an upcoming album. Her performances have graced venues like The King’s Place, The Royal Albert Hall, and The Royal Festival Hall. She is also part of pianist Lukas DeRungs’ quintet and has toured in Germany and Switzerland with the KOSMOS Suite. Immy’s versatility extends to other collaborations and recordings, including her work on Emma Rawicz’ recent album ‘Chroma’ with notable musicians like Ivo Neame and Asaf Sirkis.Immy embraces the joys of singing wordlessly and improvising, influenced by a diverse range of artists from Joni Mitchell and James Taylor to Ella Fitzgerald and Norma Winstone, which enriches her musical expression.Tonight, she will perform alongside a talented rhythm section featuring Asaf Tal (Double Bass), Mark Hale (Drums), and Honey Boulton (Guitar).
