Lysistrata

Lysistrata is a bold and raucous Greek comedy that explores themes of war and gender dynamics through the story of a group of women who decide to withhold sexual relations from their husbands as a method of protesting against war. Set against the backdrop of the Greenham Common demonstrations, this version cleverly critiques stereotypes of masculinity and the culture of "women who lunch", making it a relevant piece for today’s audience.

This adaptation retains the play's signature lewdness while omitting some of the more graphic elements, ensuring it remains accessible yet provocative. The energy of the 6th form Performing Arts students from Chiswick School brings a fresh perspective to this timeless tale.

Parental guidance is recommended due to some mature themes.
